This months’ blog covers some pretty major news for Skin Deep Clinic… If you follow me on social media you may have already seen my announcement that Skin Deep Clinic is moving, and from this autumn will be operating solely out of The Beauty Lounge on Battlefield Enterprise Park, Shrewsbury.
As this is a big change for everyone I wanted to use this blog to reassure everyone that the business itself is not changing and expand on some of the reasons behind my decision. I hope you’ll follow me on this new adventure…!
In the beginning
Skin Deep Clinic opened its doors for business in New Year 2013. Since then, it has evolved in a very organic and informal way (in other words – I’ve never written a business plan!).
I started out by offering a mobile service, sometimes visiting and injecting clients in their own homes, sometimes seeing them at various different clinics in Shropshire. This approach involved a lot of driving, but it was the obvious option for me at the time.
Making a change
Fast forward six years and I work mainly from Kinton with 2-3 short clinics each week in Shrewsbury. In my quest to become more efficient I was aware that working from one base would make more sense. After all, there isn’t much I can do driving between clinics apart from listen to the radio in the car and breathe a sigh of relief that the traffic is moving!
Kinton Grange (the house my clinic is part of) is now for sale, and some of you may know I recently moved to Wales. This year seemed like the ideal time to make a change… to choose one sole base of operations for my business.
The Beauty Lounge
To me, The Beauty Lounge is the natural next step for Skin Deep Clinic. It seems so obvious when I write this I cannot believe I didn’t think of it before! (Actually I can believe this because 1) I’m me and 2) I once read that nurses don’t necessarily have great business minds, which I fully believe!)
I have actually been working out of The Beauty Lounge since the clinic opened back in 2013. It became so busy at one point I was even visiting daily! I eventually decided however that rather than zipping up and down the A5 every day I would hold 2 clinics there each week, on a Wednesday and Friday morning.
(Just a little side note, The Beauty Lounge is not to be confused with The Style Lounge. Despite the similarity in name and location, Skin Deep Clinic is not associated with The Style Lounge.)
The benefits for my clients
Right up to today, The Beauty Lounge remains a popular location for many clients. Those enquiring for the first time often state it as their preferred location, too. These twice weekly clinics get fully booked quite far in advance and often have a cancellation list.
As well as the convenient location for many (no more driving out to the middle of nowhere trying to find Kinton Grange!) The Beauty Lounge is easily accessible and has free parking. There’s a comfortable waiting area / reception.
It’s also got loads on offer that complement my treatments wonderfully… the friendly team working there offer many services from hairdressing to massage, nails and hair removal to lashes and brows. You could come and make a day of it!
A dedicated treatment room
The lovely owners (sisters Kim and Rachel) are giving Skin Deep Clinic one of their rooms to operate out of permanently. As I write the room is being decorated and will open as Skin Deep Clinic on Monday 16th September! I’m really excited and look forward to seeing you all there in the run up to Christmas.
I hope this isn’t too inconvenient, as one thing I have learned is that it is impossible to please everybody. I know there are plenty of people who won’t miss Kinton’s narrow lanes though!! If you have any questions or concerns about the move, don’t hesitate to contact me on 07801 644888.
