Skin Deep Clinic Re-Opening Procedures
I hope you are well. I want to say a big “thank you” to everyone who has made an appointment for when Skin Deep Clinic reopens, post-July 7th.
New rules, including adding cleaning breaks between appointments, has reduced clinic capacity. Despite working extra days and hours, I’m aware that there is now a wait until mid-August for an appointment.
Legislative changes regarding closing certain businesses in England was updated on 15th June, which gave the green light for clinics like mine to reopen. Once I return on July 4th, I will see how the clinic functions with the new systems in place and, if I am able to lengthen some clinics, I will contact those on the waiting list. If that’s you, I thank you for your patience.
Changes
For your safety and mine, the new rules are as follows:
- wait in your car to be called
- wash hands on entry
- be make-up free
- attend alone
- wear a face mask
- use the hand sanitiser in the clinic
One other change in line with recommendations is that Skin Deep Clinic has become paper-free. Up to one week before an appointment, I will send forms via text message.
These forms must be signed and returned by text prior to the appointment.
The forms involve ticking boxes and providing digital signatures from your phone, with the opportunity to provide further details on some questions to which you reply “yes”.
The forms will be:
1. Medical history and consultation (for new patients only)
2. Covid-19 Health Agreement and risk assessment (for all)
3. Consent and Aftercare for B*tox
4. Consent and Aftercare for Profhilo
I have been trialling paperless systems and, as a non-techie, I have found these to be straightforward.. and believe me that is setting the bar low!
When you get to the end of each form, you should be able to press “DONE” and “SEND”. If you cannot press these, there will be a compulsory question that you have missed. Please scroll back up and the area will be highlighted in red.
Treatment cannot proceed if I have not had these forms returned.
Review Appointments
For the foreseeable future, I will not be able to offer face-to-face review appointments. I will be able to offer a review by Zoom, FaceTime or WhatsApp. This will allow me to assess the effects of your treatment (and make plans if you need a higher dose at your next treatment) but there will not be an opportunity to pop back for a tweak at two weeks.
This is a guideline from our regulators to reduce contact time to treatment only. I anticipate this regulation staying in place until we are confident that the mass return to work and services from July 4th does not impact the infection rate. Dermal Fillers
This treatment is until currently unavailable and I do not have a re-introduction date yet. Troublesome side effects from fillers have been reported when patients have a virus present at the time of treatment. The side effects are not easy to manage; whilst Covid-19 can be asymptomatic, I consider this treatment to be high risk. Again, once I am confident that the infection rate does not rise again, I will contact everybody waiting for this treatment.
