This innovative device delivers precision cryosurgery in a compact, handheld pen. By emitting a highly pressurised jet of liquid nitrous oxide (N₂O), it freezes targeted skin cells to safely remove unwanted lesions in as little as 30 minutes — all without the need for cutting, stitches, or anaesthetic.
CryoPen is suitable for treating a variety of benign skin concerns such as warts and verrucae, skin tags, cherry angiomas, age spots, sun spots, milia, and seborrheic keratoses. Because it works with such precision, CryoPen targets only the lesion while leaving the surrounding healthy tissue untouched. This makes it an ideal choice for treating visible or sensitive areas such as the face, neck, and décolletage.

How does cryopen work?
CryoPen uses the science of cryotherapy — the controlled destruction of unwanted tissue through the application of extreme cold. The device emits a fine, pressurised jet of nitrous oxide that rapidly freezes the intercellular fluid within the targeted skin cells. This process causes the formation of ice crystals, which rupture the cell membranes and destroy the unwanted tissue.
The treated area is then naturally rejected by the body, either by flaking off or through gradual reabsorption, leaving behind smoother, clearer skin.

BEFORE TREATMENT: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
In line with regulatory standards and clinical best practice, there are specific requirements that must be met before cryotherapy can be offered. A confirmed diagnosis by a qualified dermatologist is essential. Importantly, this diagnosis must clearly identify the specific type of lesion (for example, seborrhoeic keratosis), as not all benign lesions are suitable for treatment with cryotherapy.
To ensure patient safety and compliance inline with the CQC regulations, our treatment policy, and insurers, we must have this detailed diagnosis in writing prior to proceeding with treatment. Additionally, our policy requires that any diagnosis used to guide treatment must be recent and treatment must occur within 3 months of the report date.
If a detailed or up-to-date diagnosis is not available, we are able to offer a screening appointment using dermoscope. During this assessment, a dermatologist can examine the lesion(s), provide an accurate diagnosis, and confirm whether cryotherapy is an appropriate treatment option. This costs £90 and we can take images of up to 3 lesions.
We appreciate that this process may seem more involved than expected and hope the above explanation helps you to understand the process. We are a CQC registered clinic, the CQC has policies about how diagnosis must be made and written to when issuing registration to offer treatments including cryrotherapy.

what to expect from your cryopen treatment
At your first visit, one of our skincare specialists will examine the areas you wish to treat and confirm whether CryoPen is the most suitable option. In some cases, we may recommend further investigation, such as a Map My Mole analysis, to ensure complete safety before proceeding.
Before your CryoPen treatment, it is important to avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids such as AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs, or any physical exfoliants for at least 48 hours prior. You should also avoid fake tan or gradual tanners for two weeks before your appointment and refrain from laser or IPL treatments for the same period.
During your treatment, a fine jet of liquid nitrous oxide is applied directly to the lesion for just a few seconds. Most clients experience only a brief, mild stinging or tingling sensation, and discomfort is minimal.
aftercare & follow up
CryoPen requires very little aftercare compared to other removal methods such as electrocautery or laser. Healing is typically fast and uncomplicated. For 48 to 72 hours after treatment, you should avoid exposure to heat such as sunbathing, saunas, steam rooms, or hot baths, as well as swimming. It is normal to experience mild redness, swelling, or blistering for up to 48 hours after your session. Applying aloe vera gel, especially when chilled, can help soothe the treated area.
A follow-up appointment is recommended around four weeks after treatment to assess the results and confirm that the treated tissue has fully disappeared. In some cases, an additional session may be needed to achieve complete clearance. With CryoPen, you can enjoy smoother, clearer skin safely, comfortably, and without surgery.
